We had mailed off my payment to the IRS, paid the power company and the water company and scheduled cut off dates, filled the freezer with enough food to last exactly two weeks, chili dog night included, and while he made me listen to a Roy Acuff song that had made him cry, he said

"We are getting so much done today. This day is our BITCH."

I laughed. and wrote another one down on a receipt I had bouncing around in my bag. one of those that keeps getting bigger and bigger to hold all the shit I need to carry around with me everywhere I go. It's gettin' lighter though.

"You're damn right it is."
